I had the opportunity on a Sunday evening in October to photograph Conversations with Abby Phillip at Maryland Hall in Annapolis, Maryland. Abby, a Bowie, Maryland native, is a CNN anchor, author, and respected journalist. The event was a thoughtful and engaging discussion moderated by WHUR’s Harold Fisher.

The conversation centered around Abby’s new book, A Dream Deferred: Jesse Jackson and the Fight for Black Political Power, which explores Jesse Jackson’s presidential runs in the 1980s and his lasting impact on Black political influence. It was an inspiring and insightful evening to capture.
